Bamburi Beach Resort Package

DAY 1: Nairobi - Mombasa

Depart Nairobi at 1000HRS and travel to Mombasa by airplane, arrive at 1100hrs. Transfer to your hotel, settle and have lunch.

Get acquainted with the city and stroll through the Old Town to get a feel for the city. The tour includes visiting the Fort Jesus which is located on the edge of a coral ridge overlooking the entrance to the Old Port of Mombasa and was built in 1593 by the Portuguese to protect their trade route to India and their interests in East Africa. Its interior comprises of torture rooms and prison cells where slaves were kept in captivity before being traded. Weapons such as canons, which were used to defend the fort from invading foreigners as well as rioting locals, can be seen both inside and outside of the fort.

On the 24th of October, 1958, Fort Jesus was declared a national entity in the custody of the Trustees of the Kenya National Parks. Excavation was carried out, and the Fort became a Museum in 1962. The fort opens its gates for viewing in the morning and closes at dusk.

DAY 2: City Tour

After breakfast leave your hotel and visit Mamba village, Africa's Largest Crocodile Farm. Get a chance to see the crocodiles and the famous Big Daddy, also have a taste of the crocodile in the restaurant in the farm. Have Lunch and Later head to Haller Park formally known as the Bamburi Nature Trail, is a rehabilitation project on the site of Bamburi Portland Cement Company. Dr René Haller began the transformation project in 1971 by increasing the mineral content in the soil. He rehabilitated with successful tree-planting effort, which now includes fish breeding and the establishment of a wildlife park. Bamburi Portland Cement Company obtained the raw materials from the quarry, a fossil coral limestone reef that dates back 125,000 to 250,000 years ago. Each animal has a function on the nature trail's thriving ecosystem. Some of the animals found within the Haller Park sanctuary include Sally and Potty, the hippos; giraffes, Cape buffalo, zebras, and waterbucks. More than 160 bird species have been introduced to the area including weaver birds, cranes, pelicans and storks.

Walking and cycling paths wind through the trees, groves of casuarinas that are known for their ability to withstand harsh environments. The nature trails in Haller Park lead to a butterfly pavilion with many coastal species and the Nguuni Wildlife Sanctuary where herds of ostrich, eland and Oryx are farmed.

DAY 3: South Coast

After breakfast drive to South Coast where you will cross the Ferry and enter South Coast drive to Diani. Checking at Jacaranda Beach Resort in time for Lunch. Later in the afternoon have a relaxing time in the beach, Diani is known of having one of the best sandy beaches in Africa. Have a good time in the beach and soak up some sun or spend your day enjoying some of the water sports available such as snorkeling, scuba diving and water skiing and be sure to stick around for sunset on the beach.
